FREE Winter Shake and Spill Activity

Shake and Spill

Practice decomposing to 6 with this free shake and spill activity! Composing and Decomposing is one of my favorite things to teach my Kindergarteners. I love seeing their eyes light up when they get it! In my district, we start with decomposing to 5 before we move on to 10. This free shake and spill activity is a great way for students to practice those early decomposing skills (t goes up to 6).

For this station, you only need three things:
  ☃️Printed Activity
 ☃️Double-sided chips
  ☃️Dixie cups

And that’s it! Students put their chips in a cup, shake, and spill! You could even let the students draw and color a jacket on their snowman for the buttons. This activity is a great standalone activity or an easy math station if you’re doing centers. This freebie comes with colored mats and a recording sheet. Students will love adding their chips as “buttons” on the snowman!

If you find that you need other stations to fill your math centers, check out some of my other products in my TPT store!

There are 3-4 versions of each chart- the 50 chart , hundreds chart, and 120 chart includes a count by 5’s option!
