CVC Words Decodable Phonics Reading Passages – Comprehension & Retell Sequencing

These decodable passages are perfect for practicing CVC and CCVC words and sequencing and retelling! Have your students practice story retelling and decoding with these decodable passages. They include four sight or heart words to highlight on each page. Includes decodable cvc and ccvc words. There are 4 retelling pieces per page. There are 20 passages included- 10 that focus on CVC words and 10 that focus on CVC and CCVC words (beginning digraphs and blends). There is some varying of difficulty to allow for easy differentiation. Please see the preview for more passage examples. These passages include decodable words AND sight words or heart words.

Students will:

• Read the passage 3 times
• Highlight 4 of the sight words or heart words
• Cut and paste the pictures to put the story in order

Decodable words:

• CVC and CCVC words (ex: dog, cat, pig, slug, frog)
• Some plural cvc and ccvc words (ex: begs, slips, pigs)
• Some CVCC words with double consonants at the end (ex: hill, fell, will)
